Representatives from Western Build were delighted to attend a recent ribbon cutting ceremony at University Hospital Limerick along with Irish Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly.

Western Build’s Rory McGuigan and Declan McCloskey made the journey to Limerick to attend the event which was widely attended by HSE staff, government representatives and the media. The event acknowledged the recent completion of 60-bed wards, 14-bed wards and a COVID-19 laboratory, which were all delivered by Western throughout the pandemic.

The new block comprises four storeys, with three inpatient wards of 20 ensuite rooms over a basement level. The first of the wards are already open with the other two wards being opened by January 4, 2021.

Aside from congratulating all of the Western team who took part in this project, we’d also like to send a massive thank you to all of the healthcare professionals at University Hospital Limerick who go above and beyond in their every day work. This one goes out to you!
