Western is proud to announce that handover is quickly approaching for the new Community Mental Health modular building at Carrickfergus Health Centre. As the main contractor, we have delivered a turnkey solution designed to provide a dedicated crisis response unit for mental health services in the heart of the community.
The importance of mental health cannot be overstated. Northern Ireland experiences some of the highest rates of mental health problems in the UK, with around one in five adults showing signs of a mental health issue and a rising demand for accessible, community-based care. This facility will play a vital role in supporting those in crisis by offering a secure, welcoming environment for clinical assessments and interviews, helping to improve overall wellbeing in the community.
Our offsite modular approach enabled rapid construction and assembly on-site with minimal disruption, ensuring a high-quality building fully integrated with the existing health centre infrastructure. The project exemplifies Western’s commitment to delivering healthcare facilities faster, smarter, and with uncompromising quality. The building is scheduled to be fully operational very soon, marking a major milestone for mental health service provision in Carrickfergus.
