This April, in recognition of Stress Awareness Month, Western was proud to provide a Keeping Well Van on site, bringing vital health services directly to our staff.
Making Health Support Accessible
At Western, we understand that busy schedules can often make it difficult to prioritise personal health. By providing the Keeping Well Van on site, we made it easier for our teams to access free health checks in a convenient and familiar environment.
The service offered colleagues the opportunity to take a proactive approach to their wellbeing, while also raising awareness around cancer and the importance of early detection, something that can make a life-saving difference.
Encouraging a Culture of Wellbeing
This is about more than just health checks. They’re about creating a culture where wellbeing is openly discussed and actively supported.
By encouraging our people to take small but important steps, we aim to:
- Promote early detection and prevention
- Support both physical and mental wellbeing
- Encourage open conversations about health
- Reinforce the importance of self-care, on and off site
Working in Partnership
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Cancer Focus Northern Ireland for their support and for delivering such a valuable service to our teams. Their work continues to make a meaningful impact by increasing awareness and providing accessible health support within the community.
Supporting Stress Awareness Month
While the focus of the visit was on physical health, the initiative also aligns closely with the message behind Stress Awareness Month. Taking proactive steps—such as attending a health check—can help reduce uncertainty and alleviate stress related to health concerns.
At Western, we are committed to supporting our people in every aspect of their wellbeing. By providing initiatives like the Keeping Well Van, we’re helping to create a healthier, more informed, and more resilient workforce.
