The Slough Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) has reached another important milestone as it prepares to open its doors this spring.

Western is proud to be the main contractor delivering this state-of-the-art healthcare facility on behalf of Frimley Health. With construction nearing completion, several key pieces of specialist radiology equipment have now arrived on site, marking a major step forward ahead of the building’s handover.

Specialist Equipment Now On Site

Recent deliveries include:

  • Two X-ray machines
  • One CT scanner
  • Two MRI scanners

The arrival of this equipment highlights the advanced diagnostic capabilities the centre will offer and reflects the close coordination required between construction, clinical teams and equipment suppliers during the final stages of a healthcare project.

Expanding Local Diagnostic Capacity

Once operational, the Slough CDC will significantly enhance healthcare provision across the local area, enabling diagnostic services for up to 150,000 additional patients each year.

The centre will:

  • Reduce waiting times for vital diagnostic tests
  • Support earlier diagnosis of serious conditions such as cancer and heart disease
  • Ease pressure on Wexham Park Hospital and local GP practices

By providing faster access to tests closer to home, the CDC will play a key role in improving patient outcomes and supporting the wider NHS strategy for community-based diagnostics.

Proud to Deliver for Healthcare

Projects like the Slough CDC demonstrate Western’s experience in delivering complex, high-quality healthcare environments that meet the exacting standards of modern clinical use.

We are delighted to be working alongside Frimley Health on a project that will have a lasting, positive impact on the local community, and we look forward to completing the final stages of construction ahead of the centre’s official opening later this year.
