Significant progress continues on the Slough Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) project, a multi-million development that will deliver a state-of-the-art healthcare facility designed to improve access to vital diagnostic services for the local community in Slough.
As the main contractor, Western is proud to play a key role in creating this modern, sustainable CDC that will provide up to 150,000 additional diagnostic tests annually once operational. The project represents a substantial step forward in enhancing healthcare delivery, reducing waiting times, and improving patient outcomes for Slough and the surrounding areas.
The journey from the ground floor to the top floor has been remarkable. The first modular units were delivered in early 2025, marking a major milestone for the project. Modular construction has enabled fast, efficient progress with minimal disruption, and now all modules are installed, with the CDC rapidly taking shape on the Upton Hospital site.
Collaboration has been critical throughout this project. Working closely with Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust and other partners, Western has ensured that the facility is designed with both current and future community healthcare needs in mind. The CDC will operate seven days a week, equipped with the latest technology such as MRI and CT scanners, to provide faster and more accessible diagnostic services.
Western is committed to delivering a facility that not only meets the highest standards of sustainability but also helps address health inequalities by making diagnostic services more accessible to all residents, regardless of where they live.
