We are proud to have delivered the new Corby Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC), a landmark healthcare facility at the Willowbrook Health Centre in Corby. This state-of-the-art diagnostic centre represents a significant advancement in community healthcare, providing faster, more accessible diagnostic services to support earlier detection and treatment of major health conditions.
A Cutting-Edge Facility for the Community
The Corby CDC offers around 93,000 diagnostic tests annually, including MRI, CT scans, ultrasound, echocardiography, and a broad range of respiratory, cardiac, blood, and dementia diagnostic tests. Open seven days a week from 8am to 8pm, the centre operates in partnership with University Hospitals of Northamptonshire and Alliance Medical, bringing vital diagnostic capacity closer to patients’ homes and reducing pressure on hospital sites.
Modular Construction for Speed and Efficiency
One of the standout features of this project is the use of modular construction. Western expertly craned 32 pre-fabricated modules into place over just five days, completing the build in under 12 months. This approach minimised disruption to local residents and allowed rapid internal fit-out and landscaping to follow, showcasing Western’s extensive experience in delivering complex healthcare projects efficiently.
Supporting Early Diagnosis and Better Outcomes
By expanding local diagnostic capacity and reducing waiting times for critical tests such as MRIs and CT scans, the Corby CDC plays a crucial role in the early diagnosis of cancer, cardiovascular disease, stroke, dementia, diabetes, and respiratory conditions. A specialised dementia care pathway further supports faster and more accurate diagnoses, reflecting a commitment to personalized and patient-focused healthcare.
