Western has been appointed preferred construction partner on a major new hospital project in Colchester.
The new facility will provide Day Surgery Endoscopy procedures which include gastrointestinal endoscopy, colonoscopy, and other specialised procedures to the largest NHS organisation in the region. As part of the continuing efforts to reduce backlog and to expand capability for the future, Western is working with NHS England to improve the facilities available in the Hospital to enable more patients to be treated.
NHS England have hailed this contract award as a testament to Westerns reputation for delivering unparalleled quality and innovation. Moreover, it is expected to have a ripple effect, by creating economic benefits for the local community and for companies and suppliers across East Suffolk and North Essex. A Western spokesperson commented the recruitment drive will soon start for a “raft of new positions”.
Part of the selection criteria required Western to identify opportunities within this project to support Social Value, Sustainability and Net Carbon Zero.
