Project Overview

Carrigaline Educate Together National School was established in 2008. Western Building Systems were tasked with designing and building a 16 classroom school with a multi-purpose hall, library and ancillary accommodation for the Co. Cork school by the Department of Education and Skills.

Construction Process

Western were appointed the Lead Design and Build Contractor on the project, responsible for all design elements, site development works and mechanical and electrical installations. The building was a permanent build school consisting of structural steel frame, pre-cast concrete floors and block plastered walls. The building was a complete turnkey solution with the school completed within programme.

Western carried out this project concurrently with eight other schools as part of the Build Schools Framework. Two of these new schools were also located in Co. Cork.
